SUN CIRCLE SPRING EQUINOX, BEACH BLUFF PARK

Our local Marblehead Reporter chose the Equinox event as the Editor's Pick of the Top Ten List of things to do today. About 70 people attended, the largest crowd yet.
There were no clouds in the sky, but I discovered when reviewing my photographs that the lens flares and reflections caused the most unusual combinations of light: mirrowed suns, rainbows and general unexpected exuberance. The one above looks like the sun is blowing bubbles.
There are more more below.

SUPERMOON, March 19th, Beach Bluff Park

The actual moonrise on the horizon was much more spectacular than I have captured. I had decided not to be burdened with a tripod so the photographs include my movement. It was cold. The event was well attended so others were attempting to capture this as well. I have had no practice with the moon. My lens was not long enough either. It was much better "live."

The last photograph is a moondog, a flash of light reflecting down onto the water and leaving a rainbow, which is to the right, a little faint in this size and exposure.
